Homepage Short 2026 Bio

'the man with the STEREO hands' is the performing name and solo recording project of songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Neil Dwerryhouse, based near Oxford, UK.

Neil is probably best known as one of the former guitarists in cult Manchester band 'The Chameleons'. During various line-up changes of the band, Neil played electric guitar alongside original Chameleons Mark Burgess, John Lever & Reg Smithies on UK, European and World-wide tours up until leaving the band at the end of 2022.

‘The man with the STEREO hands’ has been writing and recording his own brand of melodic, Indie, Dream Pop since the mid 1990s and to date four albums and two EPs have been ‘self-released’. These are available to listen to on Bandcamp and many other streaming platforms.

His 2016 album ‘Looking for Light’ celebrates its tenth anniversary of release this year, and a brand new unheard album of original material is currently being recorded and slated for release in spring 2027.

Neil’s rare Live one-man performances feature passionate vocals, electro - acoustic guitar through various effects pedals, drum loops and over-dubbed guitar riffs played live in front of the audience.

Whether Neil is playing a Live set of his own songs or classy cover versions, or a selection of both, you can be assured of a big multi-layered Live sound created from just one pair of stereo hands!
